The fee stamp has an outer circle with all the twelve animals of the Chiuese Zodiac depicted in counterclockwise order. Within the inner circle is the incription - hanrekisho - verification of almanac/calender distribution.. The corners depicts the sun, moon and two constallations. The upper and lower inscriptions read Jingu and shicho meaning "shrine superintendent" at the Ise Jingu.. This revenue was used in Meiji 16 og 17 - 1883 and 1884. After 1885 there were no stamp but only a cancel The cancel is in seal characters with 4 characters - "hiyashi gumi" Hiyashi group (printer) in the upper part - the lower part is "keshiin" cancelaton stamp. |
